Today at PyxTech, we ran a full-day hackathon, and it turned out to be one of the most eye-opening experiences I have witnessed in a long time.
What made it special was not just the outcomes, but the participants themselves. A large majority were non-technical, non-coders. Yet by the end of the day, they had built, tested, deployed, and even presented working solutions.
All in just 7 hours.
We leveraged Agentic AI across the entire lifecycle. From running discovery and fit-gap analysis, to rethinking how epics and requirements are written using prompt engineering. From implementing and refactoring code, to generating test scenarios, optimizing builds, deploying applications, documenting infrastructure, and even creating polished presentations, AI was embedded in every step.
This was not just a hackathon. It was a glimpse into how software development is being fundamentally reshaped.
As someone who started coding back in the 90s, this shift is nothing short of extraordinary. What used to take weeks or months, often requiring deep technical expertise, can now be orchestrated in hours with the right mindset and tools.
The Real Takeaway
This is no longer optional.
We cannot live without AI. The pace of change is too fast, too transformative. Those who choose to stay away from it risk becoming irrelevant.
On the other hand, those who embrace it, experiment with it, and integrate it into their daily work are already operating at a completely different level: faster, sharper, and more effective.
The future of work is not about AI replacing people. It is about people who use AI replacing those who do not.
Today was proof of that.
Thank you Pulin Kumar, Garima Oza, and Raghu for allowing me to be the coach for this hackathon.
And they are just getting started.
